Reishi: The most powerful healing mushroom?
Reishi Mushroom.
It is Pronounced RAY-SHEE, and not only is this wild mushroom powerfully healing; but it has also been named the "mushroom of Immortality". -due to it's long list of healing properties. It thrives in Tropical, Subtropical and Temperate climates, but now due to its growing popularity, it is wildly being cultivated. Although it has a bitter and earthy taste, you barely know it's there when added to smoothies and juices or coffee. Due to its metal detoxifying properties (and many others!)- we have therefore added it to one of our favorite juices, the Metal Detox! Below are some facts to support the powerful healing claims of this beautiful mushroom.
1. Supports the Immune System!
-Contains beta glucans that have been shown to support immune health.
2. Reduces fatigue!
-Protects and supports the liver, that is because it contains “hepatoprotective properties”
3. Great for your mood!
- Increases the presence of HTa-better known as Serotonin.
4. It has many Anti-Oxidant properties.
-Specifically protects the liver. It has super oxygenated properties.
5. It is Adaptogenic!
- Simply, it helps the body normalize in its ever-changing environment.
What is great about these powerful mushrooms is that they each have specific healing properties. So, your body may agree better with another type of mushroom than the another. So, keep experimenting and trying all of these healing herbs, mushrooms and see what works best for you!

Our favorite nutrient dense Veggies. How do they compare?
The healthiest and most nutrient dense veggies.
We went out and did some of our own research and collected a list of some nutrient dense veggies; to see how they compare nutritionally to one another.
Here are our results!
We noticed that Spinach showed up in every category, and kale came close. Besides nutrients, we also wanted to look at anti-inflammatory properties of these veggies, because we all deal with inflammation. Eating the right foods, can help reduce that.
Order our Anti-inflammatory Juice from Glowing!

If you are like me and are feeling a bit dull after this winter, keep reading because here are some tips for a seamless post Winter Glow-up!
Get out and get some sunshine! Did you know that at least 40% of Americans are deficient in Vitamin D? Yikes. Vitamin D is crucial for maintaining a healthy immune system, bones, teeth, metabolism, and balancing your mood. It is also plays a huge role in your energy and focus. Some foods contain Vitamin D naturally, and others are fortified with it. Unfortunately, those that contain it naturally are not Vegan. So, get out there Vegan, and get some sun! The best time to really soak in the most of that Vitamin D, is noon and you only need 15 min.
Hydrate! I know I don’t drink enough water when it’s cold. I personally tend to move more towards hot coffee or tea. So, I’m feeling a bit dry after this season. The answer is… ch-ch-ch-chia! Did you know that adding chia seeds to your water, can help with regulating fluid levels and also help with absorbing electrolytes? Chia seeds absorb thirty times their weight in water. They are also high in fiber. We like to soak some chia seeds in a glass of water over night, and by squirting some lemon juice into it the glass in the morning, can actually help with morning excretion, (we didn’t know how else to say it) overall digestion, and it’s alkaline!
3. Drink some fresh juice! Being anemic, I can tell you firsthand how much a simple beet and carrot juice has changed my life. Juice gives your digestive system a break, so your energy reserves can focus on other functions of your body that may have been neglected. Also, because those nutrients are in liquid form, they have an easier time finding a home in your cells. However, make sure you opt for ORGANIC fruits and veggies. The benefits are in the quality of the ingredients and also the timing. So chug that sucker back! Any store-bought juices that have been HPP’D or have preservatives, really don’t have the same benefits as a fresh juice has. Check out our juice menu here!

4. Adding micro greens into your life! Micro greens are superfoods, and rich in many nutrients that will not only help absorb all of the nutrients from the other foods you are eating but, are also very bio available.
5. Eating fruits and Veggies that are in season. Not only are they more flavorful, but they are also more nutritious. Cherries, Strawberries, Apricots and Apples are in season currently. Strawberries contain a lot of Vit C, and we all know that Vit C is crucial for collagen production. Strawberries will help you glow from the inside out. Cherries contain melatonin, so they are great as a night cap to for a more restful beauty sleep. Yay for sleep! Really looking into what is in season right now as far as crops will be a game changer.
Some fruits and veggies that are currently in Season: Cherries, Strawberries, Apricots, Apples, Rhubarb, Carrots, Celery, Broccoli, Asparagus, Garlic… and so much more! Spring is pro GLOW!
